Chosen Genre

We have decided as a group to do the genre of pop, from the analysis of different videos from YouTube, music videos on television and the type of music that we all listen to. We also decided on this genre as it was the most popular on the questionnaire results, and would like well with the most popular narrative (seasonal/holiday).

1). As we have limited resources as media students, we think that a Pop video would be the easiest for us to do, as we all know the main aspects of a pop music video, and also pop can be a very wide variety of genre, where artists can include a variety of different aspects.

2). We found that seasonal/holiday theme would be a good narrative to use as our two friends are visiting 'Centre Parcs' at Sherwood Forest, which is close to our town and we can visit them for a day and get a few shots of the 'Christmas' themed village. Also we would like to include shots of people 'having fun' at this seasonal time so we think that this would be a great place to visit, to get a few basic shots to include within the music video.

3). The final point we made as a group, is that we feel that we have the right clothing, makeup etc., to associate ourselves as a 'pop' band, and have the knowledge to know how to act in a pop video. Whereas, if we were doing say a 'rock' video, we are obviously not the type of people to act that way in a rock video.

Below are some pop artists that show themselves as people that us as a group may look up too and associate as the type of people that may be in our music video.
