In my opinion we have worked well together through the process of the preliminary piece as we have worked quickly yet had a great outcome of the preliminary piece so far. Today we have started editing the preliminary piece as a team, we found this quite difficult as we all had different opinions on what to do with the clips we had to put together. However in the end we all agreed on what to do and could get on with it quickly and efficiently. The hardest part was making sure that the music fitted with the lip syncing of the two boys. We struggled with this as the clips didn't flow very well once we had put them together. However, with the use of premier pro we were able to speed up the clips so that it still looked normal, not ridiculously quick and fitted perfectly with the music we put on. We also added titles are the start which link with the font of the single cover and the colours of the single covers. We have now finished the editing and just need to render it and put it onto our media YouTube channel, which we will then next year put it onto our website to give evidence of planning. Below is a picture of the work in progress of the editing we did today!

Filming!
I've not been able to post for the last couple of days as we have been extremely busy and haven't had the time to get to a computer/laptop! But for the past week we've been filming for our preliminary piece and have completed all the filming stage in two days. As the piece only needed to be a minute long, it was quite easy to do quickly yet efficiently. Using the song 'lets get ready to rhumble' it ensured that we could get specific iconography to link with the original music video, and also link with the genre of the piece. As the song is in the pop genre we have used specific items of clothing to link with this, including baggy shorts and bandanas. This shows that the pop genre is quite quirky and is obviously different from other genres of music. The use of the two boys in the filming clearly shows the concept of the two boys 'Pj and Duncan' in the original music video of 'let's get ready to rhumble'. We found the location of the preliminary piece hard to work with, as we had to do it in school and every part of our school is the same, this meant we struggled to get the variety of shots from this. However, we gave our best and believed it went extreamly well because we could work well together as a team. Towards the end of our preliminary piece, we added a few more people into the video to show that pop music is 'encouraging' and typically makes people want to get up and dance. These people included myself, Alice (another member of the group) and two of our friends Rob and Ria who just happened to be around at the time of filming. Having these other people in the piece helped the other members of the group to be involved while the other person (Amy) filmed it. We very much enjoyed filming the preliminary piece and cannot wait to start filming for our real coursework in September!

Continued..
We are finialising the CD cover and insert today so that we can start the filming for tomorrow! In the insert we will be adding extra photos of the boys playing the role of 'Ant and Dec' in our group, and also including a copy of the lyrics. We thought this was a good idea, as it will enable people to learn the lyrics whilst listening to it, which relates to the pop genre of singles and albums, as they usually include a picture of the 'band' and a copy of lyrics. Below is the work in progress and finished piece of the insert. We kept in plain and simple with just the lyrics on as we felt that it would be more effective, and the lyrics will stand out more if they are on their own. The blue and red brick walls work perfectly for the video, as the boys will be wearing blue and red tops, and the front cover has been changed so that the font and the colours of the font relate to the insert correctly.
Here is also a picture of the changed version and finished version of the front cover.

CD cover & insert!
Today the group are working together to make the CD cover and the insert for the preliminary piece. We have used microsoft publisher to create this, with the use of photos we have took today of the two boys in our group. Below is a photo of the picture we may use for the insert in the CD single. This relates to the music genre because in pop music they have querky things in the video, in this case the bandanas the boys are wearing.
The CD cover and insert wont be finished today but we will continue to work on it throughout the week whilst filming, so we can include stills of the filming in the CD piece. Below is a image of the work in progress of the front cover.

Storyboarding!
Yesterday we finished the storyboards for the preliminary piece which are pretty basic but establish what we are going to do for the preliminary piece quite well. We watched the actual video of the PJ and Duncan 'Lets Get Ready to Rumble', to see what ideas we could get from it to relate to our preliminary piece. This week we are going to start the filming for the preliminary piece and hopefully get the editing done next week. Below is a picture of our story boards!

Magazine Page!
We are currently creating a magazne cover each just to practise for the actual magazine cover we wil design for the preliminary piece! By doing this we can practise all the certain aspects of creating a magazine page to advertise our music video. I am currently researching the internet to find a quote from a music company abotu the re-release of the Ant and Dec's 'Lets get ready to rhumble' to put onto the magazine cover and found we coudnt find one so we made one up ourselves. In our actual preliminary piece magazine cover we will find a real quote off of the interent. Below is our practise magazine cover, enjoy!! :-)

Welcome! - Premliminary Piece
Welcome to my A2 media blog! As a practise for the A2 course my group and I will be creating a preliminary piece which will include a short (1 minute) music video, CD digi pack and an A4 page magazine advert. We need to do this so that we can practise all the certain aspects of a music video, so that we are confident in creating the full music video in September. This will ensure that we understand how to use different programmes for editing, and other aspects including lip syncing. We also do this preliminary piece to check the effectiveness of having a larger group than last year in AS, and see the things that go wrong/the things that work, so we can change or keep things for the real thing! In my group there will be myself, Alice, Amy, Harry and Dom and we will be producing a short music video for Ant and Dec's, 'Let's Get Ready To Rumble'. We picked this song as it has recently been re-released and so everybody can relate to the song. It is quite upbeat so in my opinion we will enjoy creating it and we have two boys in our group that can act as the two 'Ant and Dec' characters. The boys are outgoing and are confident to act as the two characters and the demographic for the song is young, teenages so we can all relate to it. When picking our song, we all went through a number of songs on our phones and walked through our school to pick out locations where the two boys can walk through and create a good atmosphere for the video. We have a large group which realtes to the genre of pop music as pop music genreally contains large pop bands.
We hope to start creating the video this week and will continue to post updates of the planning and production of our preliminary piece. Below is the original music video of the song we will be using to create our preliminary piece! :-) Also there is a link to the lyrics, and a picture of the single when it was first released, so that we can gain inspiration for our single cover!
